Child naming conventions
I'm "renumbering" my child units in response to pressure from the tech industry (see story). Aiden will be called 2.0 his full name will depend on the day where it will be 2.0.1.X where X is the number of days old he is. This is consistent with most versioning guidelines I've seen online. The 2 is the major version number and since me and his mom would be considered 1, he gets to be 2. The 0 is just because we haven't made any others. In the 3rd place is the 1 which is the release number. This is usually updated with changes to the codebase of the application. The last number, X, will be his build number and since every day he seems to have learned new stuff it will be the number of days old that he is. So today, he is known as 2.0, but his full name is 2.0.1.491. I'm thinking we will call his brother 2.5, but we will see. Maybe 2.1.

In other news, 2.0.1.488 (which would be Friday's build) found his nose hole. We were driving around Medford and I looked back and he has his little finger stuck up his nose almost to the palm of his hand. My first thought was that he was giving himself a front lobotomy or preparing to be mummified. We both tried hard not to laugh (and therefore encourage all this). So far, so good. He hasn't been running around with a finger in his nose hole.

I've got bunches of deadlines right now so this entry is short.

Is 2.1 coming early???
So, we are scheduled to do a C-Section on Monday at 2pm. We've even completed a little pre-op care and had Dawn's blood drawn for typing and had a chat with the Doc. So today she goes to a goal-setting meeting with the City Council and comes home early to tell me that she has been having contractions since the ones we talked about this morning (at 7am). She is also getting to that uncomfortable stage where things actually are annoying. The contractions are pretty consistently 7 minutes apart which is longer than we really need to worry about, but with this being a scheduled C-Section, I'd rather not have her rip the scar tissue and start bleeding all over. Dawn has called the Doc to see what he has to say about it, but we will probably wait here for another hour or two before going into the hospital (unless he says don't come).

I'm going to try to work in the meantime. I'll post more when I know more.

Not yet
OK, so they went away. Hahahahaha. Oops. After about an hour, the contractions dwindled to nearly nothing - or at least nothing that was going to keep Dawn awake. So we both went to sleep and took a nap.
