No camera
I still don't have a camera. In case you all didn't already know, I sold my 990 to Dawn's dad and now I have no digital camera. I'm hoping that Santa will get me a new one, but we will have to wait and see.

So much for no camera
Bought the Nikon Coolpix 5000 today. So far I'm substantially more impressed than I was with the 990. They still don't have it quite the way I want it, but they are a hole lot closer. The shutter response times that sucked so bad on the 990 are improved (although sometimes it can get confused and suck again). There are a few focus issues (especially with bad contrast or with flashing lights - like on a christmas tree, but nothing that can't be easily resolved with the manual focus).

The camera actually understands (to some extent) the flash (yes, TTL is supported here - I think they should support all the features of the SB-28, like power zoom, IR focus assist, the red-eye lamp, etc, etc, but...). Images are beautiful, the features are mostly easy to access (getting both hands on it is a little difficult since it is so small). The flash thing is my only real complaint at this point. :)

Picture of Buddy
The other day, little buddy became quite fascinated by the camera flash and so he was willing to sit in one spot while I took several pictures of him. Here are two of the pics

Compromised Manhood / Christmas
Yes, it is apparently true. I have compromised my manhood by using a sewing machine. Dawn has been sick lately () and I had to have some stuff sewn and there just wasn't any other choice. So don't even think about harassing me about it.

Oh, Christmas was actually quite fun. We started out Christmas Eve hanging out with my mom, Joe, Joey, Mindy, Suzanne and Raymee. We opened presents and I took some pics (which I guess I should put up somewhere so people can see them). Then Dawn and I headed off for the coast to have fun and excitement with her mom, Darrin, Julie and their 2 kids. I didn't take near as many pics, but I did get some good video (which I need to digitize and snag images from). Then we came home and went to dad's house and saw Grandma Grace for a little while. All very exciting, except that we tried to take a "family" photo and I can't tell you how amazing it is that we can't get a decent one in 4 seperate pics. I'm sure I'll have to post something sometime soon just so that you can all see what I mean. Anyway, have fun. I'm off to get a pizza for dinner.
